So a couple years ago we took on an intern at the newspaper where I work. She was so green, every photo in her portfolio was an out-of-focus image of her face, because she kept holding the camera backwards.
I kid. She was already a pretty good photographer. But I told Brittany at our first meeting that she’d probably replace every image in her portfolio over the course of her internship. Photographers get better very quickly at the start of their careers.
And she did. She got so good we hired her full-time. She stayed a year and got even better. Then she got a new job.
But there’s still more to learn, and more I can teach her. Thus this blog. It will be a fun way to talk about photography. Stay in touch. Geek out. And help young Brittany reshoot her entire portfolio a third time.

Scott is a jerk and I hate him. I never wanted to do this blog and I wish he’d get off his high horse about teaching me shit. If I want to learn something about photography I can look it up on the interwebs. Scott is so old he’s never even heard of that.
Okay, so he’s a funny guy too, and wrote that first part himself. Enough words, let’s get some photos other than blurry iPhone shots up on this blog. I’m so ready to be schooled.
